'Bad Boys' band involved in minor crash in VT Troopers Kurt Wagenbach and Matthew Steeves pose with the group Inner Circle after responding to a minor crash in Marlboro that involved the band's members on Saturday.(Photo: Courtesy Vermont State Police) Two Vermont State Troopers responding to the crash on Saturday were greeted by the four members of Inner Circle, who had been on their way to perform at a reggae festival at Mount Snow in West Dover. Seven people including Hall were in the band's van, which had been traveling from Boston, Trooper Matthew Steeves said. Engelhardt had no passengers. when Engelhardt, who was coming down the mountain in a rental minivan, lost control of his vehicle, Steeves said. "He was coming down the hill, and there's a pretty sharp curve there," Steeves said of Engelhardt. "The morning snow had made the road a little slick and there was black ice. He bounced off the guard rail like a pinball." Steeves said Engelhardt's van slid sideways into the oncoming lane, and the group's van hit Engelhardt's van in a t bone style. Steeves said no one was hurt. Troopers Kurt Wagenbach and Steeves, both assigned to Brattleboro's barracks, responded to the crash. Steeves said he was unaware that he would meet celebrities on the scene. "I didn't even recognize them actually," Steeves said. "They mentioned that they were on their way to Mount Snow for the Reggae Fest there and they said their band name, and that's when I put two and two together." He later added, "I've definitely watched COPS . and it would be pretty hard to find someone that wouldn't be able to sing you a few lines of the theme song." After the scene was clear, the four member reggae band posed for a picture with Wagenbach and Steeves, state police said. The troopers then contacted Mount Snow, which arranged for taxis to pick up the band members and bring them the rest of the way to the reggae festival, Steeves said. "They were definitely very friendly," Steeves said. "I don't think they get to experience snow too much . and it was snowing at the time, so they were definitely having the total Vermont experience." No citations were issued as a result of the crash, Steeves said. Steeves said the crash was caused by the black ice and because Engelhardt was traveling too fast for the conditions. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Vermont State Police posted the picture to its Facebook page and Twitter feed on Sunday evening. Inner Circle also posted a photo to its Facebook page.
